This program takes an in depth look at what is needed to effectively manage an emergency. Using NIMS and ICS principles, students in this program will learn the importance of establishing an Incident Action Plan (IAP) that will drive the strategy and tactics on any incident.
Using case studies, interactive video and simulation software, students will gain first hand experience dealing with simple to complex incidents in a safe learning environment.
With our instructors by your side, we will give you the confidence to deal with challenging emergencies.
The Lead Instructors
Ron Richards, Fire Chief
A PA State Fire Instructor, Chief Richards has over 40 years of experience in both career and volunteer fire services serving as Fire Chief in three departments. Chief Richards worked 27 years in various capacities with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, having served as a Fire Chief, Fire Marshal, Fire and Safety Specialist and Fire Instructor. He graduated from the State University of NY with a B.S. in Fire Service Administration. He is the founder of and the President of Task Force 1, Inc.
Steve Schellenberg, Battalion Chief
Steve is a third generation firefighter with Washington, DC Fire & EMS who served for over 28 years. His last assignment was Battalion Fire Chief in the 6th Battalion with a first due area that included the White House, U.S. Capitol and other national icons. He is a level II Instructor having served as an adjunct instructor to the Training Division. He now is a lead instructor with Task Force 1, Inc.
