About the program:

Light staffed fireground operations are a challenge for most. The good news is that there are strategies that can work to improve efficiency without compromising safety. This program will delve into two fireground functions: Engines and Trucks.

y looking at the essential tasks that need to be identified, assigned and completed, light staffing does not to have equate with defeat. Over two days students will experience best practices when faced with light staffed fireground scenarios. From command officers to the company officer down to the rookie firefighter all will benefit from this intense hands-on program.


Captain Arthur Ashley
A firefighter since 1986, Arthur has worked for the City of Lexington, Kentucky for 22 years, assigned to both engine and ladder companies throughout his career. He is currently a Captain assigned to Ladder Company 1 in downtown Lexington.
