Program details
Light staffed fireground operations can be are challenging. The good news is that there are strategies that can work to improve efficiency without compromising safety. By looking at the essential tasks that need to be identified, assigned and completed, light staffing does not have to equate with defeat. Students will experience best practices when faced with light staffed fireground scenarios. From command officers to the company officer down to the rookie firefighter all will benefit from this intense hands on program.

Lead Instructor: Matt Kings
Matt began his work as a firefighter in Escambia County, FL in 2004. He then joined the U.S. Navy and was deployed in 2009 and 2010 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. In 2012 he was hired at Bryant, AR Fire Department and worked there for a brief amount of time before accepting a position with Little Rock Fire Department in 2013. Within Little Fire Department, he has been assigned to engine companies in the downtown and midtown area of the city. He spent the past 4 years assigned to Truck Co. #1, a tiller truck that serves the downtown area. He currently is assigned to an engine company.
